When I came to, my vision was blurry, and I was back in Robert's office.

My arms were tied to the chair behind me. The same chair I had been sitting in when he'd given me the opportunity to spring his trap. “Revenge?”

Robert glanced up from his seat. “Mostly. With him running Saturn while I ran Uranus, we had an amazing set up. The M.O.C. keeps every spare eye on Jupiter Station, and we were making money hand over fist.” His upper lip curled. “You ruined that.”

“Fair enough.” I tugged on my arms, but there wasn't any give in the bindings. “Where's Eartha?”

He lifted an eyebrow. “Why would I tell you?”

If he had her, I was certain he'd tell me and try to jab me a bit with worry over her safety. Mini and Joey weren't in the room with me, so I had to assume they'd gotten away as well. I tried not to smirk.

All I had to do was bide my time. Or not.

A padded chair crashed through the privacy glass and landed on the ground next to me.

“That could have hit me,” I yelled over my shoulder to whichever of them had decided to play the dramatic entrance card.

Robert was already on his way out the other door.

Mini dashed in and crouched behind me while Joey took off after Robert. She worked a small blade back and forth over my bindings.

“What did you do with the canister opener you had?” I asked.

“Left it at home.”

“It would have been handy,” I started, relieved she was okay.

“Archie. Don’t start.” She stopped sawing and lifted an eyebrow. “I can leave you behind.”

I chuckled. Snark for snark. “You're right. Enough jokes. Let's get out of here.”

As my hands loosed, Joey showed up, dragging a groggy Robert behind him. He set him in the chair I had just vacated, and Mini started to tie him up.

“How did you manage that? He's bigger than you.”

Joey held up a small pistol. “Tranquilizer. I found it in the crates.” He gave me a sheepish grin. “I've always wanted to try one.”

Mini wrapped a gag around the bad guy's face. She patted him on the top of his bald head. “I hope, for your sake, that you're as honest as you can be when they come to question you.” She rubbed her cheek. “They’re not the nicest people.”

He nodded and then went back to chewing on the handkerchief. Joey and Mini pulled Robert out of the chair and shoved him under the desk.

“Where's Eartha?” She might have been caught.

“Uploading data to the M.O.C.” Mini grabbed my hand. “We've got to get out of here.”

The three of us went out, through the interior waiting room, and through the exterior. The woman stationed at the desk didn't even look up. “Next,” she yelled.

Mini dragged me with her and out into the atrium. My calves were killing me, and I was about to ask for a stop so I could work the cramp out of my leg.

But she ran into a big guy's chest, and he knocked her back onto her bottom.
